To get started we set up an appointment for a free consultation. I can come to your home, or we can connect via phone, text, or email. We are currently very familiar with the practice of virtual consultations or in-person meetings while practicing safe distancing.

What is/are the most important details/wants/needs of your home improvement project. That is our starting point, and we can expand from there. My job is to make sure your vision is feasible, as well as affordable. We will discuss options and products. At this point, I can give you an approximate cost. It is also important that I am a good fit for you, both in personality and my design aesthetic. I will tell you about my background and show you photos of my work.

About 75% of people want to see samples of countertop, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, etc. at our first meeting. If selections are made, I can be more exact with pricing and give a more firm cost structure. 25% want to meet a second time to look at samples before committing on paper. I want you to be comfortable and sure of your choice of contractor.

We individually list my responsibilities as Project Manager and Contractor for your project. We also agree on a time frame. Usually, I like to supply all products. It is easier for me to return and/or replace an item if it is damaged. I ask for 20% down, 60% at 4-6 weeks, and 20% on completion. As owner of Affordable Home ImprovementZ, it is imperative to me that your job goes as smoothly and seamlessly as possible.

To keep issues to a minimum, I do everything including: measuring, design, and layout, product order, scheduling, managing subcontractors, supervising the project and establishing punch list. To stay on top of my jobs I am selective in the number of projects I commit to: 2-5 per month depending on the size and complexity. I handle the pulling the appropriate permits. I select qualified and licensed plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, and inspectors.
